Research & Writing
The costs relating to research and penmanship are dependent on a number of factors, such as the duration of the project, subject of study, related overheads, and so forth. Price estimates will, of course, be tailormade to fit the specific needs and requirements of the client. See below for further details on the conditions of delivery and payment.
Language Services
English Correction/Editing
The standard rate for the straightforward linguistic correction of English language texts is usually 7 euros per page (excl. tax).
In the case of new clients - and especially with respect to manuscripts longer than 25 pages - a sample of text may be requested. If the standard of English is particularly poor and major editing and re-writing of the manuscript is required, a higher fee may be demanded. This method of working is also to the advantage of the client for it allows him/her to decide whether he/she is satisfied with the result before proceeding with a larger commission.
Dutch-English Translations
The standard rate for the translation of Dutch manuscripts into (British) English is 15 eurocents per word (excl. tax). See below for further details on conditions of delivery and payment. In the event of commissions greater than 25 pages in length, sample translations are also advised to ensure client satisfaction.
Delivery of Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be delivered digitally. All text must be a minimum of 1.5 line spaced and in a standard 12pt font.
A deadline for the completion and delivery of the manuscript will be agreed upon acceptance of each commission.
Payment
An invoice will be sent along with the corrected or translated manuscript. Payment is required within 14 days of delivery. An advance payment is necessarily required for larger commissions (i.e. 500 euros plus).
